CTET / TET book guides

CTET has two papers. Paper 1 is for teachers of Classes I–V and Paper 2 is for Classes VI–VIII. Both test Child Development and Pedagogy and two languages. Paper 1 adds Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 adds either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. What sets teacher-eligibility tests apart is pedagogy: many questions ask how to teach a topic, not just what the topic is. A strong subject book can therefore still leave gaps. Before you buy, confirm your paper, your subject option and the language you'll answer in. Then compare one complete guide against previous-year papers, which show the question style better than any summary. State TETs such as UP Super TET have their own syllabus and pattern, so check the official notification before assuming a CTET book covers them.
