If you already have CTET or UPTET notes, your Super TET books list should start with what you can keep. Buy for the recruitment topics or practice you are missing, rather than replacing every subject book.
For Hindi-medium preparation, Examcart’s Super TET Complete Guide by Prateek Shivalik is the starting choice when you need organised study material. Its separate 20-set practice book makes more sense when your notes are adequate and you need mixed-paper work. You do not automatically need both.
For readers who prefer English explanations, Arihant’s Primary Level study guide is an alternative to inspect. There is an important scoring-table limitation in its preview, explained below.
Choose Super TET books for the recruitment you are taking
This guide uses UPESSC Advertisement 05/2026 for assistant-teacher recruitment in urban and affiliated primary schools. It schedules the written examination for 3–4 December 2026. Check the commission’s updates for any change.
The notified paper has 120 objective questions, 360 marks and two hours, with three marks for a correct answer and one mark deducted for an incorrect answer. This matters when choosing a mock book: a familiar-looking teacher-exam paper is not necessarily the right timed test.
CTET is an eligibility test; qualifying it does not itself provide a teaching appointment. Its official bulletin makes that distinction. The recruitment advertisement governs the post you are applying for, so do not assume that a CTET certificate alone settles every requirement.
If you are still selecting material for the eligibility test itself, use our CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 book guide. The buying decisions here concern the move from those resources to recruitment preparation.
What can you keep from CTET preparation?
Before ordering, put the UPESSC recruitment syllabus (hosted copy) beside the contents of the books you own. Mark each topic as covered, needing revision or missing. Use the commission’s syllabus page for subsequent updates.
The syllabus sets the languages, maths, science, environment and social-studies topics up to Class 12 level; teaching skills, child psychology, IT and life skills/management/attitude are at D.El.Ed level. That does not mean reading every school textbook. It means checking the depth of each listed topic before deciding that primary-level notes are enough.
Keep explanations you can already use
Your child-development and teaching notes can remain useful for corresponding topics. If you can explain the idea and answer questions about it, buying another complete CDP book is a low priority.
The same applies to basic maths, science and language explanations. Keep a chapter that teaches the concept clearly; practise its application in the recruitment material. Our CTET Paper 1 subject guide helps identify what your existing resources were designed to cover.
Check the material beyond your existing CTET books
- Sanskrit: the recruitment syllabus includes Hindi, Sanskrit and English together. If you prepared only Hindi and English for CTET, do not carry that two-language choice into this paper.
- Educational IT: check computers, internet, digital resources and classroom applications. A large general computer-awareness book is not automatically necessary.
- Teaching administration and professional roles: look for the education-related management, values and life-skills material your existing notes leave out.
Examcart’s guide includes these areas alongside school subjects, reasoning and GK/current affairs, making it worth inspecting for gaps. Do not treat a CTET EVS chapter as a complete science or social-studies resource. A training-course notebook may already cover teaching-related material better than another short guide chapter.
GK/current affairs includes state events as well as national and international matters. This does not automatically require a separate Uttar Pradesh GK book. Supplement missing state-current-affairs coverage and dated information selectively; another broad reference can repeat facts you already have.
Replace the practice format where necessary
Keep useful CTET questions for concept revision, but use recruitment-format sets for full timed attempts. Under negative marking, review wrong answers and doubtful guesses as well as unanswered questions. A score copied from a different exam format is a poor measure of readiness.
Examcart Hindi Complete Guide: when the missing piece is study material
UP Sahayak Adhyapak (SUPER TET) Complete Guide by Prateek Shivalik combines Hindi explanations with chapterwise practice. The publisher lists more than 2,300 questions and supplies the 2018 and 2019 solved papers through QR codes.
Its useful role is to organise work beyond the CTET notes you already have. Start with a chapter you marked as missing, read the explanation and attempt its questions. You do not need to reread the entire book from page one before beginning practice.
Buy it if your notes are incomplete, scattered or focused only on the eligibility test. A broad guide is convenient when you would otherwise have to collect explanations from several places.
Skip it if your course already covers the applicable recruitment syllabus clearly and provides usable notes. If your main problem is finishing a paper on time, another theory guide is unlikely to be the most useful purchase.
A broad guide may not give enough explanation when a maths or science idea is unfamiliar. Keep a school-textbook explanation or a lesson available for that specific difficulty instead of ordering another complete guide.
Examcart’s 20 practice sets: when you need full-paper work
The Hindi UP Sahayak Adhyapak Super TET Practice Sets by Prateek Shivalik contains 20 practice sets with explanatory solutions. Its publisher sample shows the first set running to question 120. The 2018 and 2019 solved papers are additional QR-linked material.
Choose it when you have enough subject knowledge to attempt a mixed paper and need to work on accuracy, pacing and answer selection. The sets are publisher-created practice papers, not 20 previous Super TET examinations.
A useful review separates three problems: an unfamiliar topic, a question you misread and an answer you guessed without a sound reason. Return to the relevant explanation for the first; change how you attempt and check questions for the other two.
Skip the purchase if your existing course already gives you suitable full papers with explanations. Also postpone it if most questions remain unfamiliar because the topics have not been studied. At that stage, a small amount of learning followed by targeted questions is more useful than repeatedly recording low mock scores.
Twenty two-hour attempts would take 40 hours before answer review. Buy this book because you can use those attempts, not simply because a larger set count looks better.
The two-book combo repeats the same historical-paper years
Examcart also sells the Hindi guide and practice book together. Both individual listings advertise the 2018 and 2019 papers through QR codes. Buying the pair therefore does not give you four different years of papers.
The real reason to choose the combo is that you need both explanations and separate mixed practice. If your theory notes are already good, the practice book alone may be sufficient. If you are just starting to repair subject gaps, you can begin with the guide and decide on extra mocks later.
Compare the delivered combo price with the exact two books bought separately—and with the cost of the one book you actually need. A discount does not make unused material a saving.
Use the older solved papers for their questions and explanations. Their historical format should not dictate the timing or scoring of your December practice. If the QR material is a main reason for buying, confirm that you can access it; those papers are not described as printed additions in these Examcart volumes.
Arihant’s English guide: an alternative with a pattern-table caveat
Arihant’s UP Super TET Assistant Teacher (Primary Level), listed as an Exam 2027 study guide, provides English explanations, chapterwise questions and printed 2018 and 2019 solved papers. It is an alternative theory resource for someone who prefers English, rather than a necessary addition to the Hindi Examcart guide.
Check this before relying on its practice format: the publisher’s preview cover totals the paper at 120 marks, whereas Advertisement 05/2026 specifies 360. Use the official notification for scoring. That listing year also does not mean that the notified December examination has moved to 2027.
Consider it if an English sample helps you understand a topic more clearly than your present notes. Do not choose it merely for the newer year or larger question count, and do not treat its pattern table as the authority for your mock-test routine.
If you already own an Arihant CTET title, our Success Master and CTET Kit comparison explains their different roles. Neither title should be confused with this Super TET recruitment guide.
What is realistic before December?
The remaining preparation time should decide how much new material you take on. A book is useful only if it fits into learning, practice and revision—not just the first of those.
- Topics are mostly familiar: keep your notes, fill the missing recruitment topics and choose one source of full-paper practice. Avoid restarting with a second comprehensive guide.
- Several topics are weak: use one main guide or course. Alternate a short learning session with questions from the same topic, then gradually add mixed papers.
- The exam is close and revision is unfinished: work from your error notes and resources you can already navigate. Add a focused explanation only for a gap you can realistically repair.
For Hindi-medium readers, explanation quality matters more than whether a book’s cover uses English words. Read a sample in a difficult topic. Our Hindi-medium CTET buying guide also explains the difference between a book’s medium and the language subjects it contains.
Before adding anything to your basket, finish this sentence: “I need this book because my present material does not help me with ___.” If the answer is only “more questions” or “the newest edition”, inspect the questions you have left unused first.

Frequently asked questions
Are CTET books enough for Super TET?
They can remain useful for corresponding concepts, but they should not be assumed to cover the whole recruitment syllabus or its practice format. Keep clear explanations, compare the official topic list with your notes, and buy only for the gaps.
Which Super TET book should a Hindi-medium beginner buy?
Examcart’s Complete Guide by Prateek Shivalik is a practical starting choice when organised study material is missing. Use its explanations and chapterwise questions first. A separate practice-set book becomes useful when you are ready for mixed papers and do not already have suitable mocks.
Should I buy the Examcart guide and practice book together?
Only if you need both theory support and additional full-paper practice. Their different formats can be useful, but both advertise the same 2018 and 2019 solved-paper years through QR codes. Choose the missing role rather than treating the pair as compulsory.
Can I use an older Super TET book?
Keep explanations and questions that still match the topics you need. Update missing content and current information separately, and follow the current official scheme for timed attempts. Replace the book when its gaps or unclear explanations justify the purchase, not simply because its cover year is older.
Sources and recommendation basis
Exam dates and scoring come from the official advertisement. Book contents come from publisher listings and displayed samples. The recommendations reflect the role each resource can serve; they are not based on a claim of full-book or classroom testing.
