PrepPick.in helps students and competitive-exam aspirants in India choose fewer, better books. We tell you which book to buy, which edition to buy, and when free official material means you don’t need to buy anything.
Why we exist
Exam books are confusing to buy. The same title appears under different years, an “(Old Edition)” listing can cost more than the new one, combo packs can cost more than the separate books, and counterfeit copies turn up. A wrong purchase costs money and study time. Our guides are written to help you avoid that.
What we cover
Buying guides for SSC, banking (IBPS PO, SBI PO), CTET and other teacher eligibility tests, UPSC, NEET, JEE and railway exams (RRB NTPC, Group D): exam-wide booklists, subject guides, previous-year-paper (PYQ) book comparisons and syllabus pages. Our book guides give a “buy only one” pick, a budget pick, what to skip, free alternatives, edition and ISBN details, dated prices, and warnings about old editions and fake copies where they apply.
We don’t give books scores or ratings of our own. Each guide makes a plain buy, skip or budget call instead.

How we earn, and why it doesn’t change our picks
How PrepPick makes money:
- Amazon affiliate links. Amazon Associates (Amazon.in) is our only affiliate programme. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. You pay the same price.
- Ads. We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve them. Our Privacy Policy explains how cookies are used on the site and how to opt out of personalised ads.
Flipkart and publisher links on our pages are not affiliate links; we earn nothing from them. We show them because they are sometimes cheaper, and when they are, we say so.
Neither commissions nor advertisers decide what we recommend. We often tell readers to use free NCERT textbooks or official papers, keep a book they own, or buy direct from a publisher. None of that earns us anything. We don’t accept payment to include, rank or leave out a book.
What we are not
- We don’t sell books. For order, delivery or refund problems, contact the retailer.
- We are not connected with SSC, NTA, NMC, CBSE, IBPS, SBI, UPSC or any other exam body, or with any publisher. Always confirm dates and eligibility in the official notice.
- We don’t share pirated PDFs or leaked papers.
