MTG Fingertips Biology is the NCERT-line question bank most NEET 2027 students should buy first. The 2026-27 (15th) edition puts topic-wise MCQs on all 32 Class 11 and 12 NCERT chapters in one book. It’s enough as your only Biology MCQ book, but not on its own: you still need NCERT, past NEET papers and timed tests. Buy the Physics and Chemistry volumes one subject at a time, only where your practice is thin.

Amazon and MTG listings (edition, pages, contents, seller) were re-read on 3 Nov 2026.
How we checked this page: we read each book’s Amazon listing and the publisher’s product page for its edition, page count, contents and seller, and matched the contents against the official NEET (UG)-2026 syllabus. Where a listing doesn’t say something (such as a question count), we say so. Buyer comments are quoted as individual buyers’ reports. Our methodology · About PrepPick
Is MTG Fingertips good for NEET 2027?
Yes, for NCERT-based practice, especially in Biology. MTG’s listing describes NCERT notes, topic-wise MCQs “from each line” of NCERT, NCERT Exemplar MCQs, “NCERT-based exam archive questions”, model test papers, and “answer keys, hints and explanations”. Question types listed include assertion-reason, statement, matching, case- and graph-based, numerical and HOTS. That makes it a practice book for after you read NCERT, not a replacement for NCERT.
It is weakest where NEET asks for problem-solving rather than recall, which is mostly Physics and Physical Chemistry.
Is MTG Fingertips Biology enough for NEET?
As your only Biology MCQ book, yes. As your only Biology book, no. Fingertips is built on the NCERT text, so you also need:
- NCERT itself, read before each chapter of Fingertips and reread when you get questions wrong;
- past NEET papers: the MTG 39 Years Biology PYQ book or any complete PYQ set (compare PYQ books);
- full timed papers in the last 6–8 weeks;
- the few syllabus topics NCERT leaves out, such as the plant families and the insect in Unit 2 (what NCERT misses).
A second NCERT-line bank (PW Punch, Disha or Arihant) mostly repeats the same NCERT lines. Add one only after you’ve finished Fingertips and still want more questions. For the bigger question of whether NCERT alone is enough, see is NCERT enough for NEET.
MTG Fingertips Biology 2026 vs 2027 edition: what changed, and should you upgrade?
“Fingertips Biology 2026” usually means the 2025-26 edition, written for NEET 2026. “NCERT Fingertips Biology 2027” is the 2026-27 edition (15th), the latest edition for NEET 2027.
| 2025-26 edition | 2026-27 edition (latest) | |
|---|---|---|
| Written for | NEET 2026 | NEET 2027 |
| Published | 26 May 2025 (Amazon) | 30 June 2026 (Amazon) |
| Pages | 1,120 | 1,248 |
| Listed features | NEET trend indicator, rank predictor, HOTS and figure-based questions | Same core, plus a Concept Priority Tracker, Mind Maps and Daily Practice Papers (MTG’s “this time, you also get”) |
| Chapters | Rationalised NCERT | 19 Class 11 + 13 Class 12 chapters, plus two NEET model test papers (MTG’s contents list) |
Do you need to upgrade? Not if you already own the 2025-26 edition. Its chapters follow the same rationalised NCERT, and as of 3 Nov 2026 no NEET 2027 syllabus had been released, while NTA said the 2026 syllabus was unchanged from 2025 (NEET syllabus status). The new features are study aids, not new syllabus. Add the NEET 2026 paper from a PYQ book instead. Do replace an edition older than the rationalised NCERT, one with 22 Class 11 or 16 Class 12 chapters, because it teaches chapters NEET no longer lists.
How to check you’re buying the latest edition: the title should say “2026-2027” and “15th Edition”, the publication date 30 June 2026, and the page count 1,248. Amazon shows the same ratings on old and new editions (both Biology listings showed 1,188 on 3 Nov 2026), and the 2025-26 edition was still on sale from a third-party seller, so check the details, not the stars.
MTG Fingertips vs PW Punch vs Disha NCERT Xtract vs Arihant
Short answer: all four are NCERT-line Biology MCQ books, so pick one. Fingertips is the safe default. PW Punch has the most questions listed and includes recent NEET papers. Disha is the shortest with a clear question count. Arihant is split by class. Details are from each Amazon listing on 3 Nov 2026.
| MTG Fingertips Biology | PW NCERT Punch 5.0 Biology | Disha NCERT Xtract Biology | Arihant Master the NCERT Biology (11 · 12) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Edition | 2026-27, 15th | 5.0, for NEET 2027 | For NEET 2027 | 2026-27 |

| Questions listed | No count given | 6,700+ MCQs plus 3,500+ fill-in-the-blank and true/false | 4,490+ MCQs | “2K+” MCQs per volume |
| Question types listed | A-R, statement, matching, case/graph-based, numerical, HOTS, Exemplar | A-R, statement, match the column, multi-correct, high-order | Matching, 2- to 5-statement, A-R, HOTS, Exemplar | A-R, statement, matching, Exemplar |
| Past NEET papers | “Exam archive” questions; years not stated | NEET questions from the last 5 years, incl. 2026 | NEET 2026 paper, chapter-wise | Printed before NEET 2026 |
| Extras | NCERT notes, mind maps, DPPs, 2 model papers | Short notes, 500+ diagrams, “NEET Potential Questions” | NCERT page locator, “Beyond NCERT” flags, 3 mock tests | Concept maps, chapter and mock tests |
| Buyer reports | Generally positive; one buyer felt it had fewer questions than they wanted | Several buyers report wrong answers and printing mistakes | One buyer reported answer-key mistakes (Oct 2025) | Buyers reported a wrong answer key and blurry images (May 2026) |
The buyer reports are individual reviews, not measured error rates.
Is MTG Fingertips Biology better than PW Punch?
Neither is better for everyone; Fingertips is the safer first buy, PW Punch suits students who want more volume. PW Punch lists far more questions (6,700+ MCQs plus 3,500+ fill-ups and true/false) and recent NEET papers including 2026. But several Amazon buyers report wrong answers. One, a dropper, wrote that after about 10 chapters they had found many wrong answers and suggested Fingertips instead. Another said they had to double-check solutions. If you buy Punch, check doubtful answers against the NCERT line, not just the key.
Which is better, MTG Fingertips or Disha NCERT Xtract?
Fingertips if you want one book with the widest mix of question types, including graph-based and numerical questions. Disha if you want fewer pages, a stated 4,490+ MCQs, the NEET 2026 paper chapter-wise, and questions marked “Beyond NCERT” so you know what to skip or treat as extra.
Which is better, MTG Fingertips or Arihant Master the NCERT?
Fingertips for most students, because it’s one book for both years. Arihant suits a Class 11 student who’d rather buy one class at a time. Its 2026-27 volumes were printed in January 2026, so they can’t include the NEET 2026 paper.
I already have Allen or Aakash modules: do I still need Fingertips?
Usually not for Biology, if your modules have NCERT-line questions and you’re finishing them. A second bank on the same NCERT lines mostly repeats work. Buy Fingertips only if one of these is true:
- your module’s Biology questions don’t follow the NCERT text closely (check one chapter against NCERT);
- you’ve finished the module and its PYQs, and have time for another pass;
- you’re missing statement-based or assertion-reason practice.
Fingertips vs Aakash vs Allen modules: coaching modules aren’t publicly listed with contents we could check, so we can’t compare them question by question. The fair test is the same for each: does it follow the current 19 + 13 chapters, does each answer come with an explanation you understand, and does it include NEET-style statement and assertion-reason questions?
Can Fingertips replace coaching modules for self-study? For Biology question practice, mostly yes: NCERT + Fingertips + a PYQ book + a timed test series covers what a module’s practice sheets do. It doesn’t replace what coaching adds beyond questions: teaching, doubt-solving and scheduled tests. In Physics, Fingertips is not a substitute for a problem-solving source (see Physics below).
Is the Fingertips PCB combo worth buying, or only Biology?
On a limited budget, buy Biology first and add the others only if you need them. Biology is 90 of NEET’s 180 questions and follows the NCERT text most closely, so it’s where an NCERT-line book pays off most.
The three-book set contains the same three 2026-27 books (3,452 pages in all). Buy it only if you’re self-studying with no modules in any subject and will use all three. On 3 Nov 2026 the set cost roughly ₹1,850–1,950, about the same as the three books bought separately (roughly ₹600–650 each), so the set saved little on Amazon that day.
Which Fingertips to buy first: Biology, then Chemistry (for Inorganic and Organic recall), then Physics only if you lack NCERT-based theory questions. Prices checked on 3 Nov 2026.
What’s inside Fingertips Biology
Is MTG Fingertips based on NCERT?
Yes. MTG says it is “based on the 11th and 12th NCERT syllabus for session 2026-27”, with MCQs “extracted from each line” of the NCERT textbook and an “NCERT Connector”. The 2026-27 Biology contents follow the current NCERT chapter for chapter (unit-to-chapter map): 19 Class 11 chapters (from The Living World to Chemical Coordination and Integration) and 13 Class 12 chapters (from Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants to Biodiversity and Conservation).
Does MTG Fingertips contain NEET previous-year questions?
It contains some, but it isn’t a full PYQ book. MTG’s listing calls them “NCERT-based exam archive questions” and doesn’t say which exams or years are included. For every past NEET question by chapter, use a dedicated PYQ book; Fingertips doesn’t replace it.
How many questions are there in MTG Fingertips Biology?
MTG doesn’t state a count for the 2026-27 edition. One Amazon buyer wrote “8000+”, but that is one buyer’s figure and we couldn’t confirm it. The honest way to judge volume is to count one chapter you know, such as Cell: The Unit of Life, in a sample or in the shop, and compare that with the same chapter in another book.
Does Fingertips include questions outside NCERT, and do they matter?
MTG presents the book as NCERT-based, but it also lists HOTS questions, and one buyer (Oct 2026) wrote that “some extra contents are from out of ncert” and can be skipped. The test is the NEET syllabus, not NCERT: if a topic is in the official syllabus, practise it even if NCERT covers it briefly; if it’s in neither, treat it as optional. Disha’s Xtract marks “Beyond NCERT” questions; Fingertips’ listing doesn’t mention such marking.
Are Fingertips questions harder or easier than actual NEET questions?
We can’t say. MTG doesn’t publish a difficulty comparison, and buyers disagree: one buyer of the set called its questions “very similar in pattern” to NEET, while another suggested Dr Ali’s book for “really good” Biology questions. To check for yourself, time 45 Fingertips questions on a finished chapter, then that chapter’s NEET PYQs, and compare your accuracy. If PYQs go much worse, practise more statement and assertion-reason questions from past papers.
Who Fingertips suits: Class 11, droppers and students weak in Biology
Class 11: yes. The book covers Class 11 and 12, so in Class 11 you use the first 19 chapters and keep it for next year. Do each chapter after your NCERT reading. If you’d rather buy one year at a time, Arihant’s Class 11 volume is the alternative.
Droppers: useful if you didn’t finish an NCERT-line book in your first attempt. If you did, don’t buy a new edition: redo the questions you got wrong, then focus on PYQs and full papers.
Students weak in Biology: it helps because each chapter starts with NCERT notes and the questions are topic-wise, so you can work in small sets. Start with NCERT, not the notes. Do 20–30 questions on one topic, and reread the NCERT paragraph for every mistake before moving on. MTG lists “hints and explanations”, but we couldn’t check how detailed they are, so use NCERT as your explanation.
How to use Fingertips: chapter-wise or after the whole syllabus?
Chapter-wise, right after each NCERT chapter. Saving it until the whole syllabus is done turns a learning tool into a test you’re not ready for.
- Read one NCERT topic.
- Do that topic’s Fingertips MCQs the same day, without the answers.
- For each wrong or guessed answer, find the NCERT line and mark it.
- After the unit, do that unit’s PYQs.
- In revision, redo only the marked questions, then move to full timed papers.
Should I buy Fingertips or rely on NCERT and PYQs? If you have no module, buy it: PYQs only cover what has already been asked, and Fingertips covers the rest of each NCERT chapter. If your module already gives NCERT-line questions, NCERT + PYQs + the module is enough.
Six months left: complete Fingertips or only PYQs? Do both, but in a fixed order. Use about four months to work through Fingertips chapter by chapter, with each unit’s PYQs, then switch to PYQ revision and full papers for the last 6–8 weeks. If you can’t finish all 32 chapters, do Fingertips for the chapters where your PYQ accuracy is lowest rather than dropping it. For a day-by-day plan, see the study plan in our Biology books guide.
Can I score 340+ in Biology with NCERT and Fingertips alone?
No book can guarantee a score. Biology is 90 questions and 360 marks at +4 and −1 (NEET 2026 bulletin). 340 means about 85 right with none wrong, or 86 right and 4 wrong, so you can lose only about five questions. NCERT + Fingertips is enough material if you also do every chapter’s PYQs, cover the syllabus topics NCERT leaves out, and sit full timed papers with every mistake reviewed. The score depends on how completely you do that, not on owning the book.
Is MTG Fingertips Physics enough for NEET? And how does it compare with DC Pandey?
No, not on its own. Fingertips Physics (2026-27, 1,256 pages, NEET and JEE) is good for NCERT theory and formula questions, and its contents start with a Basic Mathematics chapter. But NEET Physics needs multi-step problem practice, and an NCERT-line book is built around the text, not around graded problems.
Fingertips Physics vs DC Pandey Objective Physics for an average student: the DC Pandey Objective Physics Vol 1 & 2 set for NEET 2026-27 (Arihant, 1,834 pages, 6,000+ MCQs) lists modular theory, “NEET Trap” notes and PYQs linked to the theory (published 21 March 2026, so before the NEET 2026 paper), so it teaches problem-solving as well as testing it. If you have no Physics module, DC Pandey is the more useful main practice book; Fingertips Physics is an optional extra for NCERT theory questions. If DC Pandey’s volume is too much, finish one book fully rather than half of two. For concepts first, see our HC Verma guide and best NEET Physics books. We didn’t compare the two books’ difficulty question by question.
Is MTG Fingertips Chemistry good for NEET?
Good for Inorganic and Organic recall, not enough on its own for Physical Chemistry. Fingertips Chemistry (2026-27, 948 pages) follows the 9 Class 11 and 10 Class 12 NCERT chapters. It adds two chapters the current NCERT books don’t have but the NEET syllabus does: The p-Block Elements (Unit 10) and Principles Related to Practical Chemistry (Unit 20).
- Inorganic: a strong fit, because Inorganic is mostly recall of NCERT facts and trends, which is what an NCERT-line book drills.
- Organic: good for reactions and named examples from NCERT; add mechanism practice if you lose marks on multi-step conversions.
- Physical: you’ll need a separate numerical practice source or your module. NCERT-line questions don’t give enough multi-step calculation practice.

FAQs
Is MTG Fingertips good for NEET 2027?
Yes, as an NCERT-line practice book, especially for Biology. The 2026-27 (15th) edition has topic-wise MCQs on all 32 NCERT Biology chapters, Exemplar questions and model papers. Use it after reading NCERT, not instead of it.
Is MTG Fingertips Biology enough for NEET?
It’s enough as your only Biology MCQ book, but you still need the NCERT text, past NEET papers, full timed tests and the few syllabus topics NCERT leaves out.
What is the difference between the MTG Fingertips Biology 2026 and 2027 editions?
The 2026-27 (15th) edition, published 30 June 2026, has 1,248 pages against 1,120 in the 2025-26 edition. It adds a Concept Priority Tracker, Mind Maps and Daily Practice Papers. Check for “2026-2027” and “15th Edition” in the title.
Do I need to upgrade from the 2026 Fingertips to the 2027 edition?
No, if you own the 2025-26 edition: it follows the same rationalised NCERT, and no new NEET syllabus had been released by 3 Nov 2026. Add the NEET 2026 paper from a PYQ book. Replace any edition with the old 22 + 16 chapters.
Which is better, MTG Fingertips or Disha NCERT Xtract?
Fingertips for the widest range of question types in one book; Disha for a shorter book with 4,490+ MCQs, the NEET 2026 paper and “Beyond NCERT” flags. Buy one, not both.
Is MTG Fingertips Biology better than PW Punch?
Fingertips is the safer first buy. PW Punch 5.0 lists more questions (6,700+ MCQs) and recent NEET papers, but several Amazon buyers report wrong answers, so check doubtful keys against NCERT.
Which is better, MTG Fingertips or Arihant Master the NCERT?
Fingertips for most students, since it covers both classes in one book. Arihant’s separate Class 11 and Class 12 volumes suit students buying one year at a time.
Does MTG Fingertips contain NEET previous-year questions?
Some. MTG lists “NCERT-based exam archive questions” but not which exams or years, so use a dedicated PYQ book for complete past NEET papers.
How many questions are in MTG Fingertips Biology?
MTG doesn’t state a count for the 2026-27 edition, and we couldn’t confirm the figures buyers quote. Count one chapter yourself to compare it with another book.
I have Allen modules. Do I still need MTG Fingertips?
Usually not for Biology, if your module’s questions follow NCERT and you’re finishing them. Add Fingertips only after the module and PYQs are done, or if the module lacks statement and assertion-reason questions.
Is the MTG Fingertips PCB combo worth buying?
Only if you’re self-studying in all three subjects and will use all three books. On 3 Nov 2026 the set cost about the same as the three books bought separately, so start with Biology on a tight budget.
Is MTG Fingertips Physics enough for NEET?
No. It’s useful for NCERT theory questions, but NEET Physics needs multi-step problem practice from a book such as DC Pandey’s Objective Physics or your module.
Is MTG Fingertips Chemistry good for NEET?
Yes for Inorganic and Organic recall, and it adds the p-Block and practical-chemistry chapters the NEET syllabus includes. For Physical Chemistry numericals, add a separate practice source.
Is MTG Fingertips suitable for Class 11?
Yes. One book covers both classes, so you use the first 19 chapters in Class 11, each after the NCERT chapter, and keep the book for Class 12.
Is MTG Fingertips useful for NEET droppers?
Yes, if you didn’t finish an NCERT-line book last time. If you did, redo your marked wrong answers instead of buying a new edition, and spend the time on PYQs and full papers.
Can I score 340+ in NEET Biology with NCERT and Fingertips alone?
No book guarantees a score. 340 of 360 leaves room for only about five lost questions, so you’d also need every chapter’s PYQs, the syllabus topics NCERT misses, and full timed papers.
